All Students Need a Website
Use your website for self-training. Make yourself more professional before
joining the workforce. Learn about website design, email accounts, spam filtering,
networking, and online marketing. Show the interviewer you have the
requirements for the job and more than a basic
understanding of computers and the internet. Stand out above the other applicants.
Designing your website can be as simple or as
complicated as you choose. For students to receive the best
learning experience, use our
Linux or Windows hosting plan and a third-party HTML editor to design your
website. Most HTML editors are sold online to students at substantial discounts.
Search for "academic software web publishing". If you are in a hurry to get a website
up, try our
Website Tonight®
or
SmartSpace®
hosting packages. Choose
a template, activate your features, personalize your content and publish your
site. No technical skills required.
|
Note:
Our technical support phone numbers allow you to contact
technicians who help you setup and use our products and services. But
they are not able to walk you through designing your website using a third-party
HTML editor. There are
numerous editors available and you will need to use their support services.
|
Your website's email servers are similar to business email servers, they may even be the same. Most people start out using free web-based email such as Yahoo!, Gmail and
Hotmail. For most businesses, this is not a good option. Your new job
may provide you with a POP email account that needs to be setup on your
computer and cell phone. You
can setup POP email accounts using your website's Hosting Control Panel and
manage the email server's spam filtering, redirections, vacation response,
size quotas and passwords. Just like the IT (Information Technology)
department
at your new job.
|
Note: As a courtesy, we provide
information about how to use certain third-party products, such as cell phones,
but we do not endorse or directly support third-party products and we are not
responsible for the functionality or reliability of these products. |

Businesses are using the internet
to research job applicants before hiring. Information
posted on Facebook, MySpace, or other social media sites may be
viewable forever, so use it responsibly. Assume
content posted on these sites will be shared and archived by others. With a
personal website your content is copyrighted material with you
as the owner.

.....Sharing Your Content and Information
You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook, and you can
control how it is shared through your privacy and application settings. In
addition:
-
For
content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and
videos ("IP content"), you specifically give us the following permission,
subject to your privacy and application settings: you
grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free,
